San Diego brought the TRMA community together

Bahia Resort Hotel  •  San Diego, California  •  March 3–5, 2026

Three days of connection,
learning, and community

The TRMA Spring 2026 Conference brought the community together in beautiful San Diego for three days of education, collaboration, and connection. From committee meetings and roundtable discussions to an unforgettable first-ever "After Dark" beach event, members and business affiliates made the most of every moment at the stunning waterfront Bahia Resort Hotel.

The Spring Conference kicked off on Tuesday, March 3rd with committee meetings, board collaboration sessions, and member meetings — all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mission Bay. The Bahia Resort Hotel's elegant ballroom, with its grand arched windows and panoramic waterfront views, set the perfect tone for three days of meaningful engagement.

Thursday morning wrapped up with facilitated best practices roundtables on credit, fraud, and collections — giving members a collaborative space to tackle real challenges and share what's working. By the time the conference adjourned, attendees were heading home with fresh ideas, new contacts, and renewed momentum.

A first-ever evening
on the beach

Tuesday evening brought something truly special — the very first TRMA "After Dark" event, hosted by our generous Business Affiliate members right on the beach at the Bahia Resort. As the sun set over Mission Bay in a stunning blaze of orange and gold, members and affiliates gathered on the sand for an evening of connection, celebration, and fun.

The TRMA community gathered on the beach as the sun set over Mission Bay.

Leis were handed out at the entrance, fire pits crackled on the sand, and the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and full of laughter. Members were also invited to give back — filling care packages for Rachel's Women's Shelter as part of the evening's charitable component. It was the perfect way to build the genuine connections that make TRMA such a special community.

"Great experience at TRMA in San Diego this week. Thank you for hosting such a strong event and bringing together so many passionate and knowledgeable professionals across the risk management community. I'm grateful to be part of the future of this organization and to contribute to the collective impact we can have in shaping risk governance for years to come."

Why TRMA Matters Now

The risk landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace, with fraud prevention, credit risk, and emerging technologies at the core of our daily work.

The conversations at TRMA highlighted the importance of proactive collaboration, rigorous ethics, and a shared commitment to elevating risk practices across industries.

By uniting practitioners, researchers, and policy-makers, we can accelerate the development of standards, frameworks, and tools that improve resilience for organizations and the communities they serve.
